Shinigami
Shinigami is an short animation that chronicles 5,000 years of Chinese history, from the Xia Dynasty to the pivotal events of 1949 when The Republic of China established. The narrative follows a recurring protagonist, Wangyao, who appears across centuries in changing roles, spanning various social classes, identities, and regimes. By placing one character into these chronological scenes, I wanted to use the film illustrates how the individual is an intrinsic part of the historical fabric.
